Garden Club Field Trips 2009-2010

Cheryl Owen, Bud & Cheryl  King and Elsie Mills attended the Goard Festival at the Paltka Fair Grounds.  It was very cold.

  This lady was demonstrating how to work with goards.  She put two gourds togather and made an elephant.  She then painted it grey to look like a elephant.

Look at the size of that goard with Cheryl K. There were different sizes & shapes. Venders had made many things out of the gourds.

Our first field trip for the year was to Morningside Nursery on Sept. 26th.  The group was looking for native plants for our Butterfly Garden and the garden at the Library Monument.  There were a lot of venders present with nice plants.
